Biography
In the heart of Prague, Bohemia, within the vast expanse of Austria-Hungary, Lyda Salmonova first saw the light of day on 14 July 1889. Her life would become intertwined with the silver screen, as she blossomed into a talented actress, leaving her mark on notable films such as The Student of Prague and Evinrude, both released in 1913, and Monna Vanna, which debuted in 1922. Off-screen, her personal life was touched by love, as she shared her life with the renowned Paul Wegener. The passage of time eventually brought Lyda full circle, back to the city of her birth, where she passed away on 18 November 1968, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, a place that had transformed significantly since her early days, now a part of the Czech Republic.
