Biography
London’s Hampstead district welcomed M. Gray Murray in 1871, and the footlights soon claimed him. Between 1914 and 1923 he slipped into three very different skins: the shadow-laden intrigue of The Suicide Club, the swaggering comedy of The Taming of the Shrew, and the desert sands of The Four Feathers. His final curtain fell on 10 February 1937 in Wokingham, Berkshire, leaving the stage a touch less vivid.
