Biography
Born under the bright Nordic spring of 27 May 1884, Märta Halldén first drew breath in Stockholm and would spend her life animating the city’s stages and screens. She stepped before the cameras for Madame de Thèbes in 1915, returned in the battle-of-loves drama Kampen om hans hjärta the following year, and resurfaced a decade later in the bittersweet 1927 silent Youth. Her final curtain fell on 28 January 1932, back in the capital that had always been her artistic home.
