In the heart of a 1920s Stockholm that feels both expansive and suffocating, Youth (Ungdom) dissects the fragile egos of three aspiring artists. Lisa, Pontus, and Herman have tethered their futures to a shared creative vision, forming a collective that is as much a survival tactic as it is an aesthetic choice. As the cold reality of professional failure sets in, the bohemian idealism that once fueled them begins to sour. The film moves away from the grand romanticism of the era’s cinema, focusing instead on the 'irritated mood'—the quiet, jagged friction of people who are talented enough to dream but not yet successful enough to eat.
