Biography

A crisp March morning in 1860 Chicago welcomed the girl who would grow into Mrs. E.M. Kimball. She stepped onto the stage as naturally as others breathe, earning screen credit in the feverish early days of cinema: The Deep Purple’s shadows in 1915, followed swiftly by The Yellow Passport and The Feast of Life the next year. Off-screen she shared her life with fellow performer Edward Kimball. Her final curtain fell on 11 December 1919, three thousand miles west in Los Angeles, closing a life that had traveled from prairie winds to Pacific lights.
