Biography
Ned Nye first drew breath in 1871, and for the next fifty-three years he spun stories both on paper and on-screen. Between 1915 and 1925 he lent his pen and presence to The Unwelcome Wife, Thundering Romance and Gold and Grit—three snapshots of an era flickering to life in early Hollywood. Off-set, he shared his days with Caroline Greenfield, the woman who became his wife. The final curtain fell on 11 December 1924, in Hollywood, California, but the reels he helped create still hum with the energy he left behind.
