Biography
A winter baby, Norma Nichols arrived in Santa Ana, California, on 7 January 1894. Before the silent era dimmed, she flickered across screens as the restless heroine of The Ne’er Do Well (1915), the comic spark in Ham and the Hermit’s Daughter (1916), and the storm-tossed lead of The Tides of Barnegat (1917). Ninety-five years after her first breath, she drew her last in Los Angeles on 27 November 1989, bookending a century of change.
