Biography
Born under the bright spring sun of 14 May 1879, Oda Rostrup strode onto Denmark’s nascent silver screen while the medium itself was still learning to walk. Within a single year she slipped from the salty humor of *En Straamand* (1913) into the velvet shadows of *Borgkælderens mysterium* (1914) and the feline allure of *The Tiger Countess* (1914), three early Nordic flashes that still flicker in cinema archives. Six decades later, on 25 October 1955, her curtain fell, leaving the reels to speak for a pioneer who helped teach the camera how to watch a woman command it.
