Biography
Ottawa, 26 September 1885: Paul Doucet enters the world and, before three decades pass, steps before the camera. Between 1918’s “The Fair Pretender” and the same year’s “The Knife,” he flickers across silent screens, then reappears in 1924’s “America,” each role adding another shade to his swiftly growing gallery of characters. Off-screen, he shares his life with Catherine Doucet, his partner in marriage. The final curtain falls on 10 October 1928, when Doucet’s story ends in New York City, the metropolis that had become his adopted home.
