Biography
Cardiff delivered Pauline Peters to the world on 24 August 1895, and by 1920 she was already lighting up the silent screen. That year she helped unravel the mystery of Trent’s Last Case; a year later she strode through the cobbled streets of The Mayor of Casterbridge; and in 1922 she distilled grand opera into fleeting, heart-stopping seconds for Tense Moments from Opera. Away from the cameras she shared her life with A. George Smith. Her final curtain fell in South Africa on 14 December 1976.
