Biography

Aarhus welcomed Peter Malberg into the world on 21 September 1887, and from that day forward the stage and screen had a sly, scene-stealing Dane in their future. Audiences first felt his spark in 1921’s *Vor fælles Ven*, watched him roam Dickensian London the next year in *David Copperfield*, and still savored his comic timing three-and-a-half decades later in *Ingen tid til kærtegn* (1957). When the curtain finally fell on 23 June 1965, Denmark lost one of its most quietly indispensable character actors.
