Else, a young woman living in a serene Danish village, is known for her impeccable moral rectitude, earning her the local moniker 'The Virtue Dragon.' Her quiet life is disturbed by the arrival of Baron von Falk, a charismatic but financially desperate estate owner. Seeing Else's sterling reputation and potential inheritance as his salvation, the Baron orchestrates a calculated courtship, aiming to compromise her virtue or secure a marriage of convenience. Else, initially charmed, gradually perceives his manipulative motives.
