Biography
Oakland, California, greeted the arrival of Ray Hanford on 16 September 1887. Over the next five decades he slipped between the footlights and the pages, carving a name as both performer and storyteller. Moviegoers remember his face in the werewolf landmark Wolfblood (1925), his charm in Public Approval (1916), and his comic timing in The Geezer of Berlin (1918). The curtain fell for good when he died in Los Angeles during May 1939.
