Biography
A Charlestown winter greeted Richard Morris on 3 January 1862, and from that frost-kissed morning he charted a course toward footlights and flickering film. Audiences later felt his presence ripple through The Spirit of the USA in 1924, caught his earlier spark in 1913’s Granny, and heard the maritime thunder of his 1921 role in The Sea Lion. The Pacific sunset he last saw on 11 October 1924 in Los Angeles closed the curtain on a life lived between bay and backlot.
