Roxana McGowan

Biography

Roxana McGowan appeared in films briefly in the late 1910s. Her brothers were "western film" producers in the glory days of serials (1930s to the 1950s). Their names are Stuart E. McGowan and Dorrell McGowan. Roxana McGowan was a "Mack Sennett Bathing Beauty" who married Albert Ray. After divorcing him, she married film director John M. Stahl. She later married a wealthy businessman, Horatio Smith. She once lived in Washington, D. C. but retired to living in her brother's (Dorrell McGowan) home before being placed in a convalescent hospital in Santa Monica, California.
