Summary
A pair of conspicuously ill-suited urbanites find themselves unceremoniously deposited amidst the stark, unforgiving tableau of the desert. Their subsequent odyssey is a riotous succession of narrow escapes, where the very fabric of their genteel existence is tested against a relentless gauntlet of primal threats: the predatory grace of lions, the unsettling unpredictability of 'wild men,' the frantic absurdity of jack rabbits, and a panoply of other formidable, often ludicrous, denizens of the wilderness. Through sheer, improbable luck and an escalating series of slapstick predicaments, they eventually stumble into a frontier settlement. This supposed haven, however, proves to be a crucible of such ingrained, almost mythic, toughness that our ostensibly 'tough tenderfeet' are instantly relegated to the status of greenhorns, their prior harrowing exploits rendered mere child's play in the face of true grit and unvarnished frontier resilience. The film thus becomes a comedic deconstruction of perceived hardiness, revealing that true mettle is often found not in surviving the wild, but in navigating the even wilder human landscape.
Synopsis
The adventures of two men land them in the desert, where they successfully escape lions, wild men, jack rabbits and other fierce creatures, and reach a frontier settlement which is so tough that the two tough tenderfeet are made to feel themselves mere amateurs in the line of toughness.
