Biography
Roy Pilcher first drew breath on 8 August 1878 in Raymond, Illinois, a small town that never guessed it had just produced a future face of silent cinema. Within a few fast-moving years he stepped before the camera, lending his presence to The Spendthrift in 1915, followed swiftly by Betrayed and Where Is My Father?—both released in 1916. The lights dimmed for the last time on 18 May 1948 when he passed away in New York City, the metropolis that had become his final stage.
