Biography
A May-birthday boy from the iron-laced parish of Västerfärnebo, Sven Bergvall first saw daylight on 25 May 1881. Between silent flickers and talkie experiments he built a life onstage and behind the camera, steering performances in *Tuhlaajapoika* (1916), letting *Charleys tant* (1926) run riot, and conjuring Nordic magic for *Trollbruden* (1930). Off-set he shared his name—and his years—with wife Anna Bergvall. The final curtain fell on 2 November 1960.
