Charleys tant

In the hallowed, albeit stiff, halls of Oxford, Jack and Charles find themselves paralyzed by the social rigmarole of the 1920s. Desperate to host their love interests without triggering a scandal, they await the arrival of Charley’s wealthy aunt from Brazil. When the real Donna Lucia d'Alvadorez is delayed, the duo coerces their friend into a wig and a corset. What follows is a frantic, slapstick-heavy deconstruction of class and gender, where a fake aunt becomes the target of unwanted romantic advances from greedy older men. It is a story of youthful desperation colliding with the absurdity of Victorian-era leftovers, all captured through the flickering lens of Swedish silent cinema.
