Biography
Born the same day she would one day close life’s curtain—8 April 1878—Tyra Dörum drew first breath in Stockholm’s cobble-stoned pulse. Silent-film audiences later caught her fire in Guarded Lips (1921), felt the frost of history beside her in Charles XII (1925), and smiled at her comic timing in Dan, tant och lilla fröken Söderlund (1924). Seventy-three Aprils later, on the calendar date she always claimed as doubly hers, she left the stage forever.
