Biography
Niagara Falls roared the day Violet Radcliffe arrived—20 August 1904—and the movies soon echoed back. At barely eleven she cracked her first case on-screen in “Little Dick’s First Case,” then sailed straight into Treasure Island’s pirate-swept frames and the charity-carnival glow of “Cheerful Givers,” both released in 1917. The camera shuttered for the last time when she slipped away quietly in Los Angeles on 4 May 1965, leaving behind a brief but bright arc of silent-era silver.
