Biography
Ohio, 1851: William Lloyd first drew breath on a Midwestern farm, but the footlights soon lured him west. By 1914 he had traded barns for backlots, slipping into the skin of a small-town politico for *The County Chairman*. Four years later he chased a fortune in *$5,000 Reward*, then stared down roaring flames in 1919’s *The Fire Flingers*, proving that weathered face could sell both comedy and peril. Off-screen he claimed a quieter leading role, wedding Alice T. Overmann. The curtain finally fell on 26 January 1928, in California, where the sun set on a life that had traveled from prairie wind to Hollywood lights.
