Biography
Born under the cedar-shadowed hills of Boonville, New York, on 27 April 1863, Cleveland Moffett grew up to trade small-town quiet for the clamor of words. Ink became his passport: he charted the rise of tycoons in The Money Master (1915), unleashed night-riding justice in The Silent Avenger (1920), and spun brittle glamour in The Girl of Gold (1925). Off the page he shared life’s plot with Mary Elizabeth Lusk, his wife and steadfast first reader. The final chapter closed in Paris on 14 October 1926, the Seine replacing his typewriter’s clatter with an enduring hush.
