A pioneer born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on October 4, 1877, H.E. Aitken helped define the architecture of early American cinema. As a multifaceted producer and writer, he brought high-stakes drama to the screen through 1914’s 'The Life of General Villa' and the sentimental 'Home, Sweet Home,' along with the 1915 short 'The Electric Alarm.'
