Biography
Philadelphia greeted Kenneth B. Clarke on 19 June 1880, and from that day forward he spun stories that flickered to life on early cinema screens. Between 1916 and 1918 he conjured three silent-era adventures—Immediate Lee, Untamed, and Three X Gordon—each script crackling with the energy of a medium still learning to talk. Off-set, he shared his life with Elsie Kimble, the woman who stood beside him through reel changes and relocations. Clarke’s final curtain fell in Los Angeles on 26 March 1948, but the frames he inked still race through projectors somewhere, chasing light across a silver screen.
