Biography
St. Louis, Missouri, greeted Marc Edmund Jones on 1 October 1888, and from that moment the stage and the page fought for his attention. Between 1915 and 1917 he slipped in front of the camera long enough to embody villains in *The Cowardly Way*, sketch human depth in *The Birth of Character*, and balance heartbreak with laughter in *Tears and Smiles*. When the lights dimmed he turned to writing, trading scripts for sentences that charted inner worlds. Ninety-one revolutions of the sun later, on 5 March 1980, his story closed in the quiet evergreen town of Stanwood, Washington.
