Biography
Paul M. Potter first drew breath on 3 June 1853 amid the salty air of Brighton, East Sussex. From English shores he crossed the Atlantic and built a quiet reputation with his pen, scripting the silent-era dramas The Test of Womanhood (1917), the earlier sensation Trilby (1915), and the Parisian dazzle of Queen of the Moulin Rouge (1922). His final curtain fell on 7 March 1921, far from the English coast, in the electric whirl of New York City.
