Biography
Paulo Benedetti entered the world in 1863 amid the walled splendor of Lucca, Tuscany. Behind a camera he found his true stage, crafting images for O Guarani in 1912, bending gender on-screen with Uma Transformista Original three years later, and tracking Rio’s nightlife in 1924’s Gigolete. Rosina Cianelli shared both his name and his life. He closed his final reel in Brazil, 1944.
