Biography
Rome, 21 January 1877: Baldassarre Negroni enters the world in the heart of Lazio and grows up to become one of Italy’s silent-era visual storytellers. Behind the camera he steered *Vertigine* (1919), re-imagined *Camille* (1915), and later coaxed sound-era romance into *Due cuori felici* (1932). Between shoots he oversaw production logistics with the same meticulous hand, while off-set he shared his life with actress Hesperia. The Tiber claimed him again on 18 July 1948, closing a circle that had always been drawn around his beloved hometown.
