Biography
Dublin welcomed Harry Lambart on 9 July 1876, and before the city had finished celebrating, he was already rehearsing for a life on stage and screen. Behind the camera he steered *The Price of Vanity* (1914), conjured *The Silent Witness* (1917), and shaped *The Crucible of Life* (1918); in front of it he lent his own face to the stories he loved. Fifty-three years after that first curtain-rise, London drew the final blackout: Lambart exited on 11 June 1949, leaving the glow of the projector to keep his name flickering.
