Biography
The year 1881 etched September 16 on the Cleveland skyline as Jack Harvey took his first breath. From Ohio stages to Hollywood sets, he shaped silent-era thrills and wartime suspense, guiding lenses on Getting ’Em Right, Kaiser’s Finish and, decades later, Unknown Island. Off-camera, he shared his life with Beulah Susan Riley; on-camera, he both called the shots and stepped into the frame. His final scene closed on November 9, 1954, under Los Angeles sun, closing the reel on a 73-year journey through America’s early picture dreams.
