Biography
Richard Schott stepped in front of the camera just as German cinema was finding its voice. In 1914 alone he slipped into two starkly different worlds: first as the iron-willed chancellor in the biopic Bismarck, then as a hot-blooded Corsan in Mateo Falcone, der Corse. Three years later he resurfaced in Ostpreussen und sein Hindenburg, lending a home-front gravitas to the patriotic documentary released while the Great War still raged.
