Summary
Buster, Come on! reimagines Richard F. Outcault’s legendary comic strip character, Buster Brown, as a whirlwind of domestic chaos in this early silent comedy. Arthur Trimble takes on the mantle of the mischievous boy in the iconic pageboy haircut, but the narrative pivot centers on his dynamic with Doreen Turner and the real star of the show: Pal the Wonder Dog (Tige). Unlike the static panels of the newspaper, the film uses the kinetic energy of the era to showcase Buster’s penchant for trouble, framed against a backdrop of middle-class respectability that he seems determined to dismantle. The plot follows a series of escalating gags where Buster’s attempts at play or 'help' inevitably lead to a collision course with adult authority, leaving Tige to often be the smartest presence in the room.
