The ominous shadow of the law hangs heavy over Jack, a notorious jewel thief, who receives an unambiguous 'suggestion' from the police to vacate the city. Before he can heed this advice, however, a more pressing engagement calls: a lavish house party hosted by Georgette Ring, a woman known to possess a ruby of immense value. Jack, ever the opportunist, views this as his final, lucrative score before his forced departure. Complicating his plans is Jeannie, a former associate now discreetly employed as Mrs. Ring's secretary, who endeavors to thwart Jack's thieving intentions. Yet, the night's true twist arrives not from Jack's machinations nor Jeannie's interventions, but from an unexpected quarter: the ruby is pilfered by another guest, the enigmatic Count Bodevsky, setting the stage for a delightful, albeit brief, caper.
