Summary

A well-heeled flapper, blithe as champagne foam, plucks a whiskered vagrant off a municipal bench, weds him on a dare, then discovers the tramp is the same boy who once shared her nursery rhymes inside a marble Newport nursery before a banking crash hurled him into the gutter: memory, money, and masquerade pirouette through Manhattan’s parks and penthouses until love re-inherits its forgotten name.
