Summary
In the arid sweep of West Texas, Ranger Bill Miller is summoned by a beleaguered cattle baron whose herd is being whittled down by an elusive band of rustlers. The rancher, convinced his own foreman is a loyal steward, remains oblivious to the betrayal simmering beneath the dust‑laden plains. As Miller infiltrates the shadowy network, he uncovers a duplicitous hierarchy: the foreman, a man of quiet demeanor, orchestrates the thefts with a ruthless efficiency that belies his outward respectability. The narrative unfurls as Miller confronts the moral quagmire of law versus loyalty, culminating in a climactic showdown where the true nature of justice is tested against personal allegiance. The film weaves themes of deception, frontier ethics, and the fragile veneer of civilization, all set against the stark, unforgiving backdrop of the Texan frontier.
