Honestly? Probably not, unless you’re the type of person who gets a kick out of watching 1930s-era Italian character actors wander around looking vaguely troubled. If you’re into crisp editing or a plot that makes sense, you are going to hate this. You’ll probably spend half the runtime checking your phone or wondering why the lighting looks like a dusty attic.
But, there is a weird, sleepy charm to it. It’s not for everyone, certainly not for anyone who needs their action beats to hit every ten minutes. It’s for the folks who want to stare at a screen and let the silence hang there for a while.
There’s a specific moment near the middle where the film just stops. No music, no movement, just a guy leaning against a wall. It reminded me a bit of the aimless energy in A Champion Loser, but with more dirt on everyone’s faces. It feels like the director just forgot to yell 'cut' and decided to keep it in the final edit. I actually kind of liked it.
Don't expect the grit of a western like Two-Gun of the Tumbleweed. This is much more concerned with the *feeling* of walking than the actual destination. It’s not trying to be a grand epic. It’s just trying to exist.
The pacing is, to put it politely, glacial. My coffee went cold about twenty minutes in, and I didn't even notice until the credits started rolling. The film is less of a story and more of a mood piece that forgot to bring the mood. Still, I’ve seen worse things on a Saturday night. 🎞️
It’s not perfect. It’s barely even 'good' by any measurable standard. But it has this odd, dusty personality that makes me think the people making it were having a much better time than I was watching it. Sometimes that’s enough.
