Honestly, it depends on how much you enjoy feeling confused. If you’re the type of person who needs a coherent plot to stay awake, do not bother. But if you like movies that feel like a weird, half-remembered dream, you might get a kick out of this.
It’s definitely not for everyone. People who want a solid, three-act structure are going to hate it. 🐒
There’s a scene about halfway through where someone is just staring at a wall for way too long. It wasn’t artistic or profound. It was just awkward. I kept waiting for them to say something, but they just stood there.
Ivan Yudin is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Sometimes he looks like he’s in a completely different movie than the rest of the cast. It’s oddly charming in a way.
It reminds me a bit of the disjointed energy in A Virtuous Vamp, though obviously in a very different context. It has that same feeling of someone trying to build a house without a blueprint. Sometimes it holds up, other times it just feels like a pile of wood.
I caught myself checking my phone, not because I was bored, but because I was trying to figure out if I missed a massive chunk of the story. I don't think I did. I think the movie just doesn't care if you're following along or not.
It’s messy. It’s imperfect. Some of the acting feels like a first rehearsal. But it has this weird personality that’s hard to shake. It’s not a masterpiece, but it sure isn't boring.
Maybe it’s a failure, but at least it’s an interesting one. I’ll probably think about that green kitchen light for another two days for no reason at all. 🤷♂️
