Biography
A midwinter baby in 1868, Andrew Robson drew his first breath amid the snow-drifts of Hamilton, Ontario, then spent the next half-century trading Canadian frost for California sun. Between 1914 and 1920 he slipped into three very different skins: the raw frontier lover of *Salomy Jane*, the grit-soaked hero of *Salvation Nell*, and the vengeous Corsican twin in *The Corsican Brothers*. The curtain fell for good on 26 April 1921, when Robson’s final exit played out under the palms of Los Angeles.
