Biography
London, 1892: a daughter arrives in the world and is christened Barbara Tennant. Footlights were her cradle; by twenty she had slipped from the boards into the flicker of silver nitrate, debuting in 1912’s The Holy City. The roles, though modest, arrived faster than for most hopefuls crowding the studio gates. Fifteen years later she stared down the camera one last time for Hidden Aces (1927), aged thirty-five. Then the projector cooled, the lights came up, and Barbara vanished—no forwarding address, no gossip-column coda—leaving only the two surviving title cards as proof she was ever there at all.
