Biography
Denton Vane entered the world in 1890 amid the bustle of Brooklyn, New York, and stepped before the cameras during silent film’s infancy. Between 1916 and 1918 he slipped into three very different skins: the scheming courtier of *An Enemy to the King*, the luminous leading man of *The Glory of Yolanda*, and the charming fraud at the heart of *The Beloved Impostor*. When the final reel of his own life ran out on 17 September 1940, the curtain fell in Union Hill, New Jersey.
