Biography
A September child of 1878, Edward Cecil first drew breath amid the clang and clatter of San Francisco. By the silent-screen era he had traded the Bay’s foghorns for klieg lights, stepping before the camera to stalk through The Beast (1916), march along The Yankee Way (1917), and test the tides in Sink or Swim (1920). Off-screen he claimed Maud Warren as his leading lady. The final curtain fell on a December night in 1940, when the lights dimmed for good in Los Angeles.
