Biography
Amsterdam greeted Emmett Corrigan first—5 June 1871, a canal-side morning that forecast a life of perpetual performance. Crossing the Atlantic, he swapped Dutch gables for Hollywood sound stages, slipping into patrolman’s boots for The Beast of the City, trading them for silk robes in The Bitter Tea of General Yen, and navigating domestic storms in 1924’s The Turmoil. Off-camera, his heart signed two leading-lady contracts: Molly I. Mack and, later, actress Myra Corrigan. The final curtain fell in Los Angeles on 29 October 1932, closing a story that had sprinted from European whim to California glare in just sixty-one years.
