Biography
Frank Rice’s story began on 13 May 1892 in the lakefront town of Muskegon, Michigan. From those breezy shores he headed for the flickering lights of silent pictures, turning up in 1924’s The Ridin’ Kid from Powder River, saddling into 1931’s The Squaw Man, and riding out the talkie revolution in 1934’s The Last Round-Up. Off-screen he shared his life with wife Louise Kaufman. The final curtain fell on 9 January 1936 in Los Angeles, California, closing a career that bridged two eras of American film.
