
Summary
In a tangled web of mistaken identity and pursuit, Jim Loraine flees his Idaho ranch after his brother, donning Jim's distinctive hat, commits a crime that implicates Jim. He arrives in Montana, where he encounters a prospector who has been shot and is dying. The prospector entrusts Jim with a map leading to a lucrative gold strike. Jim subsequently gives the map to his niece, but their tranquility is short-lived as the prospector's assailant arrives, intent on reclaiming the map. Jim confronts the culprit, and in a bold move, he assumes the role of a deputy, which enables him to legally pursue and apprehend the man wanted in Idaho.
Synopsis
Jim Loraine flees his Idaho ranch after his brother, wearing Jim's hat, shoots a man and Jim is accused. In Montana Jim finds a prospector that has been shot who tells him of a map to his gold strike. Jim finds the map and gives it to his niece. But the man that shot the prospector now arrives to take the map away from her. When Jim drives him away, he get himself made a Deputy and returns to legally kill the man he now knows is wanted in Idaho.
