Biography
Sixteen December 1876, Manhattan’s bustle greeted Harry Dunkinson’s first breath. Within two decades he had swapped city sidewalks for klieg-light glow, lending a restless spark to the one-reel era. Audiences first leaned forward when he squared off in *On Trial* (1917), then chuckled as the hapless husband in *Skinner’s Dress Suit* that same year, and finally gasped at his cliff-hanging bravado in *The Daredevil* (1920). Off-screen he claimed a quieter lead, wedding Hazel Reid. Forty-nine springs later, on 14 March 1936, the California sun set on his final scene.
