Biography
Philadelphia greeted Harry McCoy on 10 December 1889, and by the Roaring Twenties he had slipped into the flicker of silent reels and early talkies, scribbling gags between takes and stepping in front of the camera when the director shouted action. Audiences laughed with him through Present Arms (1927), followed his globe-trotting mischief in The Girl from Everywhere (1927), and caught his breezy charm again in Call It Luck (1934). Two years after that last screen bet, the lights dimmed: McCoy’s final curtain fell on 1 September 1937, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
