Biography
Born under an autumn sky in Germany on 20 October 1886, Hedda Vernon leapt from the pages of a Berlin childhood onto flickering screens at the dawn of cinema. Between 1914 and 1921 she shaped silent narratives three times: as the tormented soul in *Selbstgerichtet oder Die Gelbe Fratze*, as the woman guarding *Das Todesgeheimnis*, and as the legendary rider in *Lady Godiva*. When the lights dimmed, she traded performance for prose, drafting stories that kept her voice alive in a new medium. Munich claimed her final scene on 10 August 1961, but the images she left behind still move, frame by frame, through the dark.
