Biography
A Parisian winter yielded Jim Mason on 3 February 1889, and from that first breath he seemed destined to trade the city’s boulevards for the flicker of silver screens. Between 1920 and 1929 he slipped into three radically different skins: the tormented crime boss of *The Penalty*, the adrenaline-charged rider in *A Race for Life*, and the frontier dreamer of *All Faces West*. Off-camera, he shared his life with Lillian Ericson, their marriage a private reel running parallel to his public adventures. The final curtain fell on 7 November 1959 in Hollywood, California, but the images he left behind keep spinning, ghost-light in the dark.
