Biography

She further refined her dance prowess with engagements in Budapest and Vienna, before commanding the theatrical stages of Berlin and Vienna as an accomplished actress. Haid's prolific career extended to the silver screen, where she starred in nearly a hundred films, spanning both the silent era and the age of talkies. This versatility earned her the distinction of being Austria's first female film star. Her personal life saw three marriages, the last to Swiss Dr. Carl Spycher, with whom she had a son, the future jazz musician Pierre Spycher. Liane Haid spent her later years with her family near Bern, Switzerland, where she lived to the remarkable age of 105."
